The .416 Remington Magnum was created by Remington Arms Company in 1990 in response to increased interest in the older .416 Rigby cartridge. The .416 Rem is a smaller case with higher pressure (54,000 CUP) that produces similar ballistics to the .416 Rigby.
Many African hunters still prefer to use the .416 Rigby because the lower pressures are less prone to developing problems such as stuck cases in the typically hot African climate.Cartridge:rifles
