The SV-98 (Snaiperskaya Vintovka Model 1998) is a Russian bolt action sniper rifle designed by Vladimir Stronskiy.

The rifle uses a cold hammer forged barrel and action. It is equipped with a flash suppressor and an integral scope mount, typically with a PKS-07 (7x) scope. It retains the auxiliary sights of the SVD.

The weapon uses either 7.62x54mmR or 7.62x51mm NATO rounds, in 10 round detachable magazines.

The rifle itself is 127 cm in length, and 6.2 kg in weight. The barrel is 650 mm, with a 320 mm right-hand twist. Trigger weight is between 3.3 and 4.4 pounds.

This firearm was portrayed in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas and a South Korean FPS called A.V.A (Alliance of Valiant Arms).
